A charity trust is a trust that is set up to give monies out to general or specific charitable organisations in order to help the general public or a specific group of the general public. In order to be a charitable trust, it must be able to help the public in some form or another. The main categories of charitable trusts are for the relief of poverty, for the advancement of education, for the advancement of religion, and for any other type of purpose that is beneficial to the public that does not fall within the range of the three previous categories.
