In tracing your Irish Ancestry you will stand a better chance of getting started if you decide firstly which branch of the family you will try to trace. The further back in your family tree you go the more branches your family tree will have, and these branches will divide into more, and so on. A simpler way to do it is to start with the paternal line, since you have only one surname to follow. If when doing this you come to a stop with your paternal line, stop for a while, and then when you go back to tracing your Irish Ancestry try another line. You will find that there are always plenty of branches to follow.
