The fact that we can now process and share information more easily creates a whole new raft of design challenges. Industrial designers need to work out how they can best match technology to the needs and wishes of users. The environment also has a large bearing on contemporary industrial design as designers now need to design products whose use will not have an adverse effect on the environment. Industrial design masters programs tend to focus on the technical aspects of the items on which they are working but will also address issues such as ergonomics, safety and manufacturing economics. Students with a masters or PhD degree in industrial design can enter careers as multimedia designers, industrial design specialists, chief designers and more.

The relationship that a patient has with a doctor is one that is predominantly based on faith. A patient will usually accept the recommendations of his or her doctor without having even the slightest knowledge of the science behind the medicines that the doctor’s prescribing or the training behind any surgical procedures that he might be about to perform.
