So I did finally buy a new graphics tablet and mouse. I decided to go with the Wacom Bamboo tablet mouse. So far it’s really been all I wanted. The pressure sensitivity is smooth and I get a nice flow with my lines. I like the textured surface that’s a real improvement over my last mouse tablet. I might post some of the designs and drawings that I’ve been working on up here later.

I want to increase my marketability in the office, and my mentor suggested I take some software testing courses.  We are always looking for better, more efficient ways to do projects, and this may just be the answer–I can learn how to test software and we can then utilize the best software programs for our specific needs in office.  When I put this proposal to my supervisor, she was very enthusiastic about it, and offered to pay half the tuition, since it will be directly benefiting our organization.  My mentor is excited, too, since this is exactly the forward mobility we have been looking for.

I am looking for some reviews of Wysiwyg editors. I really need to get a good equation editor to help me out with my work, but I am not sure which Wysiwyg Equation Editor would be the easiest for me to use. I think if I could find some product reviews for the different options that are available to me it would be easier for me to figure out which one of these I should get. I can find out which editors work best for the kind of work that I am doing, and which would work better for a different type of situation.

I was recently invited to a friends barmithva. While I was there I noticed someone had a video camera set up to (what I thought) recording the event. When I ask my friends what-is-webcasting about it they told me that the weren’t recording it they were webcasting it. I asked them what that meant. Turns out the webcast is where you can send a live feed out over the Internet to a bunch of people simultaneously. You can send both audio and video out. This was just about the coolest thing I had ever heard of. I am going to find out more about it and start using it myself.

What makes me personally like (and use) PaperPort so much?  Well besides Adobe Photoshop, I think PaperPort is right among the most clever imaging software products on the market.  Why, you may ask?  It’s a handy little tool that lets you adjust by seeing multiple preview screens.  Let’s say I have a picture that’s too dark, too green, and too fuzzy.  I can go into the brightness/contrast feature, and be shown the current picture against eight adjusted pictures in a 3×3 grid.  I can keep clicking on the one that looks good to me (with no knowledge of any technical mumbo-jumbo) and the options will keep changing.  I simply repeat this until I get the picture just how I like it .  That’s smart paperport software!
