A wedding is traditionally a service that is a voluntary union between two people; although the traditional marriage ceremony have seen a decline, there are now many other methods to confirm your union. Despite the religious aspect to a marriage, it is still a legal matter; it is not recognized as complete until the marriage license is signed. There are a great many traditions around the world but the terms bride and groom before the couple are married are seemingly universal; once they are married they known as the wife and husband.
Religious Wedding Services
There are many factors that can affect a wedding tradition and those of religion, race and social class for example, ca make it very complicated. Many people, whether religious or not, still prefer to have a traditional ceremony performed by a recognized religious minister in a Church of their choice. Of course we all know and love the white wedding but this is not the generally accepted form of ceremony in every Christian country.
Twin Ceremonies
A different type occasion often difficult to arrange is where two couples are married simultaneously; this type of ceremony is often organized by a person that has a sibling that wants to get married at the same time.
Destination Wedding Ceremonies
These days it is easy for couples to arrange a wedding in another country and have the guests travel to them with the honeymoon continuing afterwards; although the idea of a isolated island beach may be your idea of a destination wedding, it doesn't actually mean you have to travel outside your own country.
Weekend Break Weddings
Whilst it is quite normal for the Irish to have three day weddings, more couples are taking the hint and having theirs over a weekend which gives them more time to enjoy the occasion. To cater for an expanding market a number of companies arrange special themed occasions that incorporate anything from golf to surfing. Lodging is usually at the same facility and couples often host a Sunday brunch for the weekend's finale.
Weddings Online
Although unusual, you can even get married online and it will resemble a normal wedding or you can even have characters of yourselves get married; there are even guides for information on how to go about an internet ceremony with information on people that can carry it out for you. This can prove a useful tool where relatives and friends from around the world can see an online wedding take place in real time without actually being there! In addition, it will be easy to run business background checks online.
Town Hall Services Despite the term civil wedding, most services that take place outside of a Church, wherever that may be, are civil weddings which have to be carried out by appointed or elected judges, mayors or a justice of the peace. Religion doesn't normally play a part in these ceremonies because they are purely a legal requirement. Often, this type of service will take place in a judge's chambers, town or city hall or any other specially designated place.
If you live in a Christian country then you will recognize many of these wedding traditions but there are many more types of ceremony available around the world.
