If you’ve just achieved a notary public appointment, congratulations! During your four- to five-year term, you’ll help others, participate in the legal process, and even stand to make some extra money on the side. The first thing you will need to do is purchase your notary supplies. Notary publics need, at minimum, a logbook and an embossed rubber stamp including their name, state of licensing, and the date of their appointment’s expiration. Many independent companies, such as Notary Underwriter’s Inc. sell notary public supplies. After your term is up, you’ll need to renew your certification and order new notary materials.
