Any children that you may have after you have become a duel citizen will automatically retain duel citizenship as well, giving them the opportunity to live abroad in your other country legally and without question or hassle. Applying for duel citizenship also means that you have the ability to travel internationally without having the claim that you are a US citizen, which can sometimes draw negative attention (depending on where you are traveling) post 9/11 making you an innocent target to unnecessary violence or taunting.
