How Will Vehicle Manufacturers Respond to the Gas Crunch?
The question on many drivers minds these days (besides “how will I pay for this gas?”) is what vehicle manufacturers are planning to do to make their vehicles more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly. With plans for vehicles like the Honda hydrogen car, the electric Smart Car, and hybrid SUVs and trucks, manufacturers have shown that they are serious about developing cars that are tremendously fuel efficient and relieve us of our dependence on expensive gasoline. Of course, let’s not get too excited about the goodwill of vehicle manufacturers. After all, the writing is on the wall, and any companies that do not make fuel efficient vehicles will probably find themselves out of business.
