Here are a few that you will find in your search.Acting Technique — Meisner Technique, Method Acting, Stanislavski, Chekhov, Strasberg, Stella Adler, and Improv are some of the more well known. Many are all derived from the same system just tweaked. Do a little research and see what fits you best. – Bill Z. Sheers

It is important to try differnt things. If you find a class you like, yes, stick with it for a year, but eventually you need to grow and change things up a little bit and get a different prespective.

Go to Hollywood and find a class. Stick to it for a while and give it a chance to let you grow. Don\’t quit too early and jump from class to class. If you choose a place, stay at least a year. Builda foundation then move on.

Many classes nowadays do not focus on just these techniques. These are classes that take a little bit from everybody\’s ideas and they incorperate it into the best way the yacan teahc it to someone.

I like improv because of the carefree way that it brings out the creativity. Yes, there is a structure, but you are allowed to just go for it and let the chips fall where they may.

You need to taylor any of these to your own style. there is no such thing as \’just do this and this will happen\’ in the world of acting. You need to take what they say and marry it with your personality.

Stan was the man. He started it all the rest are just people who could agree on the way to interput what the guy was trying to teach. They are all good in there own way.

Best thing to do is just audit the class. Most will just let you sit in and watch to see if you get a good vibe about the classs. Some won\’t let you do this and it is not because they are jerks, it\’s that they are protecting there students from being uncomfortable.

Meisner or Method? Aren\’t they all kind of the same. It seems they have all come from the same Stratlovski tech form years ago. I guess Ill just aduit a couple and see what I think
