Green Day is one of the most popular bands on the international music scene today. The band was formed in America in 1987 and is composed of band members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool. The band grew out of the punk rock scene in Berkeley California. Though it had released songs on an independent label for years, it was not until its release of Dookie in 1994 on the Lookout! Record label that it gained widespread attention. It subsequently released several unsuccessful albums before releasing American Idiot in 2004, which sealed its place in American rock history. The group has sold more than 22 million records in the US, and green day sheet music is widely available.
