My husband and I are in the process of buying our first home. I recently found out that we were approved for the First Home Buyers Grant. It is a loan that doesn’t have to be paid back and is available to United States citizens. It also doesn’t matter if a person is black or white. I can’t believe all the free money that’s available to first time home buyers. I told my husband that I found some grants online for writers, students, and even some for women’s startups. I also noticed that there are multiple grants that we qualify for.

A friend of mine is having a house built in the mountains of West Virginia. She just asked me to go online and check prices for a Briggs And Stratton Standby Generator. This needs to be a whole house generator as they often lose power during the winter months. I asked how often this happens and how long they do without electricity. Imagine my surprise when she said her parents were without power for a month last year. Thankfully they have this type of whole house generator so they were covered. I can’t imagine living that way. It would drive me crazy. I can see why she refuses to build a house without having this appliance installed.
